The Coachella Lodge just had a very successful Third Annual Masonic Chili Cookoff! The dining hall was packed with brothers, concordant body members, friends and family alike. Everyone had a fun time and were able to eat their fill in home made chili.
There were eleven chili entries this year and a big thanks is due to all the chili chefs that brought forth their chili this year. The competition was fierce, and the top three chilis were only separated by a few points. Below are our chili taste testing winners...

Afterwards there were several prizes that were raffled off to our attendees including: $25 gift card to Kaiser Restaurants, $25 gift card to Dickie's BBQ in La Quinta, Job's Daughters fireworks and Aspen Mills sourdough bowls.
A big thanks to our local community restaurants - Jackalope Ranch, Dickie's BBQ in La Quinta, and Aspen Mills - who donated prizes and supplies to our cookoff.
Our gratitude goes to our brothers, friends and Job's Daughters that helped make this event a huge success by helping serve, setup and cleanup.
WHO WILL BE CHILI MASTER OF 2016!?
Coachella Lodge is hosting it's Third Annual Masonic Chili Cookoff. The cookoff starts June 30th 7pm at the Coachella Masonic Lodge located at 51100 South Jackson St, Indio CA 92202.
The cookoff is open to the public for all Masons, Concordant Bodies, Youth Groups, friends and family. We will have our chili taste testing contest where we will decide who become Chili Master 2016. Afterwards attendees can have all the chili they can eat.
The cost of admission is a $10 donation for adults and $5 donation for kids.
Donations after costs will go towards helping our youth groups and the blue lodge.
We are looking for chili cooks to enter their original chilis for taste testing.

General Patton Demolay will be hosting a Father's Day Breakfast at Coachella Lodge #476. The breakfast will be held Father's Day June 19th 8am-11am. Adults eat for a $10 donation, $5 for kids and father's eat free! Come support our Demolay chapter with a hearty and delicious breakfast.
Coachella Lodge #476 broke new ground with it's first ever Faculty Student Appreciation awards. Schools local to the Coachella Valley awarded their most deserving faculty members and students for this award. Twenty three students and educators were awarded during the ceremony. The Thomas Jefferson School band was in attendance to play throughout the event. The lodge room was packed with teachers, students, parents and families. It was a great time and afterwards attendees were treated to a delicious lasagna dinner catered by Brother Hector Minnion.
Many thanks to the committee and Wor Fred McCubbin for spearheading this great event. Kudos to our high desert brothers at Yucca Lodge for inspiring Coachella Lodge to pursue such a great program. We look forward to making this an annual event for the community!
